Warren Buffet has this to say about happiness and work:
“They say success is getting what you want and happiness is wanting what you get. I don’t know which one applies in this case, but I do know I wouldn’t be doing anything else. I’d advise you that when you go out to work, work for an organization of people you admire because it will turn you on. I always worry about people who say, ‘I’m going to do this for ten years; I really don’t like it very well. And then I’ll do this…’ That’s a little like saving up sex for old age. Not a very good idea.”
We tend to think the grass is always greener somewhere else or that we won’t be happy until ‘X’ happens. You must live in the moment and assume there might not be a tomorrow. Find the right company or organization and don’t stop until you get a job there. Life is too short to be miserable in your occupation or place of employment.
You will spend the majority of your life working; why not do it for a company you admire with coworkers you respect?
Don’t settle for anything less.
