Airbnb salaries revealed: See how much engineers, developers, and hundreds of other employees at the housing-rental company make

Airbnb is bucking the business world's return-to-office trend.

Earlier this year, the company announced that its 6,000 employees could continue to work remotely permanently, with no effect on their pay. The policy seems to be a popular one — Brian Cheskythe CEO of Airbnbsaid during a May earnings call that more than 800,000 people visited Airbnb's careers page in the wake of the announcement.

"Employees don't have to choose between their high-paying job and a great quality of life," Nathan Blecharczyk, a cofounder of Airbnb and the company's chief strategy officer, told Bloomberg. "They can have both."

The US Office of Foreign Labor Certification requires Airbnb to disclose salary offers in submitted work-visa applications. Insider combed data from the office, which authorizes hiring non-US employees, and then publicly releases the data.

The data does not include stock grants that can significantly increase total compensation, but it is a valuable guide to Airbnb salaries for a variety of positions. Insider dug through the dozens of disclosed salaries that represent engineers, lawyers, and more.

The analyzed salaries from the second quarter of 2022 mainly represent workers in California and Washington. The highest-paid person in the data set was a director of engineering in California whom the company offered $337,900, while the lowest-paid people were two operations engineers in California whom the company offered $120,000 each.

Here's a breakdown of what Airbnb pays some of its many other employees. The broad categories are taken from filings by the Office of Foreign Labor Certification. Roles are listed below only if there are at least two candidates.

When you are done checking out the data below, take a look at Insider's Big Tech salary database to see how much Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and other companies pay their workers.
