It’s terrible to sit in a meeting and try to figure out a solution to a problem and not come up with anything.
The clock ticks by, and the team members look around with furrowed foreheads; you feel like you’re going to explode.
But you don’t have to go through that again!
3. Start with a good example
When working on something that requires creativity, be creative, not business-like!
Identify ways to improve your customer service by studying another unrelated business.
For example, use a dog-walking company that’s smashing its targets.
Chances are they’ll offer some great insight into those industries’ challenges and how they’ve overcome them.
Steal them and build; drop the idea that everything has to be new.
2. Ask Random Questions
- Pick a random song from their Spotify playlist and how it relates.
- What types of books do they hate to read and why?
- What kinds of movies do they watch that are a guilty pleasure?
The more random, the better. Chunk up and down, then left and right.
3. Ask what they would do if they could do anything?
At first glance, this question may seem silly.
However, it can prove helpful when pulling out new ideas and solving problems together as a team!
This gets everyone thinking in all directions so that no idea feels too weird.
Magic occurs when you sense future memories before they have happened.
The “As If” factor.
