Mark Zuckerberg tries to reassure employees that Facebook’s parent has an A.I. strategy after cutting 10,000 jobs

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms, held an all-hands meeting to reassure employees about the company's future after the recent round of job cuts. He announced that the company's focal point would be to incorporate artificial intelligence into its products and develop the metaverse, a virtual reality platform for online connection.

Despite the previous firing process, Meta's stock has soared due to its emphasis on AI and cost-cutting measures. The meeting highlighted various AI products being developed, including chatbots for Messenger and WhatsApp with different personas and usefulness, an Instagram story tool with text-based prompts, internal AI chatbots for employee feedback, and a productivity assistant called Metamate. Zuckerberg also invited employees to participate in a generative AI “hackathon” in July. Overall, Meta seems to be doubling down on its AI strategy despite past struggles.
