If you've ever thought about relocating to New Zealand, now might be the perfect time

New Zealand is expanding its Immigration Green List, adding 17 new roles in response to the ongoing skills shortage. The list provides a fast-track route to residency for employees and allows employers to hire foreign workers for specialist roles that cannot be filled by locals. The newly added jobs, such as panel beaters, welders, IT administrators, aviation engineers, corrections officers, vehicle painters, and naval architects, span a range of industries.

The expansion of the Green List is a direct response to the skills shortage exacerbated by the pandemic-induced closure of New Zealand's borders. The country aims to address this issue by offering fast-tracked visas to fill specialist positions in the ICT, automotive, and engineering sectors.

It's important to note that to qualify for the Green List visa, individuals must meet specific requirements such as qualifications, registration, or relevant experience. If these conditions are met, applicants may be eligible for immediate residence or after two years of working in New Zealand.

This immigration policy is part of a broader plan to revitalize the economy following the pandemic. The New Zealand government acknowledges the need for the immigration system to evolve in order to support economic recovery, fill skill gaps, and promote the growth of strong communities.
