The Problem with Yes People
While helpfulness is a virtue, some colleagues readily agree to any request without proper consideration. These "yes people" often fall into three categories:
-
The Entangler: This well-meaning person gets overly involved in your work and theirs, wasting your time with unnecessary details.
-
The Generous Fool: This person enthusiastically offers help but lacks the ability or authority to deliver, ultimately disappointing you.
-
The Overpromiser: This person excitedly agrees to tasks they can't handle, leading to delays, mistakes, and damaged relationships.
While these individuals usually mean well, it's important to be cautious when relying on them.
