My employer didn't discuss salary with me at any point during the interview process. They just offered me the lowest value on the range advertised in the job advert. Should I have asked about salary in the interviews?

I don't know what the best practice is for discussing salary with a potential employer. I was kind of waiting for them to raise the topic at some point but it never happened. When they made a written offer they just offered the lowest salary they could (given the salary range advertised).

Should I have brought up the topic in one of the interviews?
