What makes a workplace truly exceptional? USA Today is on a mission to find out by spotlighting organizations that prioritize their employees in 2025. Through the Top Workplaces USA program, in partnership with Energage, a Pennsylvania-based research firm, companies across the nation are being evaluated—not by executives or HR, but by the people who know them best: their workers.
Any organization with at least 150 employees—whether public, private, nonprofit, educational, or governmental—can be nominated for this recognition. The process is simple: employees complete a concise 25-question survey, available through October 31, 2025, to share their honest feedback. There’s no cost to participate, and anyone can nominate a company by visiting topworkplaces.com/usatoday before the September 27 deadline.
Earning a spot as a Top Workplace isn’t just a badge of honor—it’s a magnet for talent. In a competitive job market, a strong workplace culture can set a company apart, driving success by attracting and retaining top performers. “A thriving workplace culture is the backbone of any outstanding organization,” said Caren Bohan, USA Today’s editor-in-chief. “It’s where employees, businesses, and their missions flourish together. We’re excited to celebrate the companies that get it right.”
Energage has a track record of digging deep into what employees value, having surveyed over 2 million workers at more than 8,000 organizations in the past year across 65 U.S. markets. In 2024, USA Today honored over 1,500 employers, with winners celebrated at an event in New York City. For 2025, the spotlight shifts to Las Vegas, where Top Workplaces USA recipients will be feted at Resorts World in March when the winners are officially announced.
Why does this matter? Beyond boosting morale, a Top Workplaces ranking signals to customers and investors that a company aligns with their values. In 2024, standout winners included a Wisconsin mortgage lender, a Michigan accounting firm, a California travel nursing agency, a California mortgage company, and a Utah credit union—proof that excellence spans industries.
So, is your workplace a contender for 2025? Nominate your employer and let the employees’ voices decide.
